Turmeric Spiced Maca Granola

In my opinion, there is no granola sold at a grocery store that is better than homemade granola! I also believe most granola has way too much sugar in it and doesn’t make for a healthy breakfast or snack. This granola is low in sugar but still delicious. It also has added benefits from anti-inflammatory turmeric and maca powder, which is great for hormone balance and energy! This recipe is easily adaptable; you can use your favorite nuts and seeds, and adjust the spice/sweetness level to your liking. This granola is pretty delicious by itself with warmed homemade almond milk, over smoothie bowls, with yogurt and fresh fruit, sprinkled on salads for a crunch, or just as a snack. It also makes your house smell amazing and is actually quite calming to make when your stressed out and wanna just chill in your kitchen.

2 1/2 cups rolled oats

1/2 cup nuts (almonds/walnuts/pistachios), raw, chopped

1/2 cup pepitas, raw

1/2 cup sunflower seeds, raw

2 Tb sesame seeds

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp ginger

1/2 tsp cardamom

pinch of salt and pepper

1/2 Tb vanilla extract

1/4 cup raw honey, warmed and runny (add more if you like it sweet)

1/3 cup coconut oil, melted

1/4 cup hemp seeds

2 Tb maca powder

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine all the ingredients except the hemp seeds in a large mixing bowl and mix until everything is incorporated evenly. Spread mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread into an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes, stir together, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown and delicious. Add hemp seeds and combine!
