Galaxy Bowl

This galaxy bowl is packed with all good things that your body will thank you for. I crave this after I have had a nice workout in and need to refuel my body without spiking my blood sugar levels. The flax and hemp seeds provide a source of protein and healthy fats, the ginger and turmeric are great for digestion and inflammation, the maca powder is a great source of energy, cacao powder has a great source of iron, greens are just awesome for you in general, and beets are a great source of phytonutrients called betalains that provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and detoxification support. This smoothie bowl is really low in sugar with just a little frozen banana and blueberries to sweeten, but still achieves the thick consistency from frozen zucchini, which has a high source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. Top with my Turmeric Spiced Maca Granola for a little crunch and you’ll have yourself a bomb breakfast that you can feel really good about eating.


1 Tb ground flax seeds

1 Tb hemp seeds

1 knob of fresh ginger

1 small knob of fresh turmeric root (optional)

1 packed cup of greens (spinach, chard, baby kale)

1 cup steamed then frozen zucchini

1/2 cup beets, cooked

1/3 cup frozen blueberries

1/4 of a small frozen banana

1 Tb almond butter

1 Tb raw cacao powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)

1/2-1 cup almond milk (depending how thick you like it)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend away until smooth and creamy! Top with homemade granola, or unsweetened toasted coconut flakes, the possibilities are endless.
